The Mission
Acupuncture is a 3,000 year old practice and the oldest form of drug-free medicine but it can seem mysterious and cause an understandable level of confusion, uncertainty or skepticism. My mission is to not only help my patients work towards their maximum level of physical, mental, and emotional health, but to ensure that patients know that we are in this together and that they have a clear understanding of our treatments and goals. I want all my patients to feel empowered and to work towards becoming and maintaining their best possible selves.
Anna Acupuncture is a personalized and holistic (whole-body) approach to achieving your optimal health. At Anna Acupuncture, we treat more than just your symptoms. We take into account your entire self in order to get to the root of your health concerns. We will work together to help you achieve more balance physically, mentally and emotionally with the oldest form of drug-free medicine.
Our Approach
Our Story
The Story
My life’s dream has always been to help as many people as possible but I did not know what my most suitable modality would be until I experienced acupuncture first hand. Within a few treatments as an acupuncture patient, I knew without a doubt that I wanted to become an acupuncturist myself in order to help as many people as possible.
I believe that acupuncture encompasses so much more than our use of needles and other trusted techniques. Acupuncture to me begins with communication. My Bachelors of Arts degree in Communication with a strong focus in Psychology from Rutgers University helps me to not only actively listen and really make my patients feel heard, but to effectively communicate with them so they leave every treatment with a solid understanding of what we just worked on as well as the journey ahead.
Acupuncture treats a myriad of physical, mental, and emotional concerns so please do not be shy to ask me about anything that you would like to work on. I will always be honest and transparent with you about my expectations for our work together and what I believe acupuncture can do for your individual case. Ideally, after we have addressed your initial health concerns, I would like to work in a way so your treatments are more preventative in nature so you can focus on doing all your most beloved activities.
Anna Yesunas, MSAc, Dipl. Ac., L.Ac.
I have been interested in natural and holistic medicine from a young age being surrounded by family members in the medical field and a mother with a passion for gardening and the "power of plants” as she lovingly called it. I spent much of my adolescence learning about Western medicine, always having a love for nature as much as science. As a lifetime fitness lover and athlete, I have always been obsessed with discovering how strong and healthy my body and mind can be through the power of physical and mental exercises and nutrition.
I am a licensed acupuncturist and Diplomate of Acupuncture, certified by NCCAOM®. I earned my Master of Science degree in Acupuncture at Tri-State College of Acupuncture (3 year program) in New York City and graduated with honors. Tri-State’s program is diverse in that it educates and trains students in multiple styles of acupuncture, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Acupuncture Physical Medicine (APM), and Kiiko Matsumoto Style (KM). I consider myself an integrative practitioner whom is particularly drawn to the APM style, which is strongly rooted in the use of Trigger Point Needling (Dry Needling) and/or the use of electroacupuncture to release myofascial imbalances and constrictions. Being an integrative acupuncturist, I incorporate TCM and KM style of Japanese acupuncture into my APM treatments balancing the styles based on each patient’s personal needs. As part of treatment I incorporate other certified techniques, such as cupping, gua sha, and moxibustion which I utilize as necessary. Anna Acupuncture is personalized, integrative, adaptive, and performed with your best health and self in mind at all times.
